Goes A Long Way.

Find answers to common questions about your notice, documentation, and the recovery process. Have a question about your specific claim? Our office can help.

Call 813-685-8400
What is unclaimed property and how does it happen?

Unclaimed property generally refers to financial assets that have been dormant or unclaimed for an extended period. Examples include forgotten bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance proceeds, securities, and abandoned safe deposit box contents. When a company cannot locate the owner, the property may be transferred to the government.

How can I verify that my notice is legitimate?

We encourage you to independently review our professional credentials and reputation. You can view our Google reviews, BBB profile, and Facebook page.

You are also welcome to call 813-685-8400 or visit our office at 10531 Bloomingdale Ridge Dr., Riverview, FL 33578 before proceeding.

What should I do with the letter I received?

If the letter concerns funds owed to you individually, complete the Unclaimed Property Recovery Agreement and provide a photocopy of an accepted government-issued ID. Keep the reference number from your notice available.

Accepted identification includes a driver’s license, passport, state ID, or military ID. Provide both sides where applicable, following the office’s instructions.

How can I send the necessary documents?

Mail documents to 10531 Bloomingdale Ridge Dr., Riverview, FL 33578. You may also contact the office about submission by fax at 800-604-2580, text at 813-257-0332, or email at [email protected].

Fax, text, and email submissions should be followed by mailing the originals as directed by the office. Do not include identity documents in the initial authorization form on this page.

Can I arrange an electronic signature?

RefundCPA offers electronic signature through DocuSign. Email [email protected], include your reference number, and request electronic signature. Our office will explain the identity-validation and document-submission steps for your case.

Why choose RefundCPA for customer care and support?

RefundCPA is family-owned and operated. Our office answers its phones directly and provides personal assistance rather than outsourced call-center support. You can ask questions and speak with people familiar with your recovery process.

What do I need to get started?

Begin with your RefundCPA reference number, a signed Agreement to Recover, and accepted identification. Our office will guide you through the initial steps and explain the documents required for your claim.

Where appropriate, a notarized identity statement may be used. The notary must validate the identification; the statement cannot simply say “personally known.”

What if I do not have a valid form of identification?

An Affidavit Attesting to Claimant’s Identity may be appropriate for someone who does not possess a valid, non-expired accepted ID, has been deemed disabled, or is medically unable to obtain one.

This form requires two individuals to appear before a notary on the claimant’s behalf. Each must present the required identification for the notary to validate. “Personally known” is not sufficient. Contact our office to confirm which form applies.

How does Tracie Lowe, CPA assist with recovery?

Our office identifies and verifies unclaimed property, gathers and reviews documentation, prepares and submits claims, and monitors their approval status. We communicate with clients throughout the process, including through our business text line. Claims are reviewed under the applicable State procedures.

Who is eligible to recover unclaimed property?

Rightful owners may initiate a recovery claim. Depending on the circumstances, authorized representatives, heirs, and beneficiaries may also be eligible. Our office can explain what applies to your situation.

What types of unclaimed property can be recovered?

Examples include closed bank accounts, insurance policies and beneficiary proceeds, utility and electric deposits, credit balances, stocks, bonds, dividends, and legal or class-action settlements. Our office can review your notice and explain the property involved.

How long does the recovery process take?

RefundCPA’s typical recovery timeframe is 90–120 business days. The duration varies with the complexity of the claim, documentation requirements, and the responsiveness of the relevant institutions. Timing and approval are not guaranteed.

What if the person named in the letter is deceased?

Contact our office so the claim can be reviewed as an estate recovery case. Processing depends on the estate, probate, will, trust, executor, heirs, and other case details.

The contingency agreement may need to be reviewed or adjusted because estate recovery can involve more extensive processing.

Is there a fee for recovery services?

Our fee is contingent on successful recovery. It is deducted from the recovery amount and paid directly to Tracie Lowe, CPA by the State of Florida Disbursement Department. You do not send money to the firm from the check you receive.

Review the fee terms in your recovery agreement before authorizing processing.

What if I do not have all the necessary documentation?

Our team will guide you through the document requirements and assist with obtaining the information needed for processing. Some cases require additional supporting material, such as a will, probate record, or trust document.

Can I receive updates and new information?

Yes. Contact our office by text, email, or phone for updates, questions, and available new information. Our team can explain the current status and next steps for your case.

Are there time limitations for claiming property?

Requirements and time limits depend on the State and the asset involved. Contact our office promptly with the reference number on your notice so we can explain any deadlines or requirements that apply to your claim.

How do I contact customer support?

Call 813-685-8400, text 813-257-0332, or email [email protected]. Fax: 800-604-2580.

Our office is located at 10531 Bloomingdale Ridge Dr., Riverview, FL 33578.
